The Beatles & Baby Boomers
The Concert Experience
An educational journey back to the 1960s and the baby boomer generation. The story starts in 1963 with a look at news headlines, pop culture and popular music. The next year The Beatles appeared on “The Ed Sullivan Show” and the effect on American teenagers was similar to Dorothy leaving Kansas and crash landing in Oz. Dave will take you to a Beatles concert through rare films and you’ll watch as police stop the performance and city officials ban the group as being a bad influence. The final experience is the legendary 1965 concert at New York’s Shea Stadium, often referred to as The Beatles greatest and the beginning of stadium rock.
